You will get a full refund if we cancel the face-to-face accredited short course for any reason and not able to transfer to an alternative course that is suitable for you. Refunds will not be made if you wish to cancel your enrolment:
- On day prior to course
- No show on the day
- Arrive too late
- Withdrawal during the course
If you transfer the date of the course in less than 5 working days, we retain your original payment and a charge of 50% of change fee applies.
If you request to transfer the date of the course for more than 5 days no change fee apply.
Courses need to be rescheduled with in three months. Courses booked after three months will be forfeited.
If you wish to cancel your enrolment in less than 5 days prior to commencement of the course, you will be refunded 50% of fees only.
If you wish to cancel your enrolment more than 5 working days prior to the commencement of the course, you will be refunded 75% of fees. 25% administrative fees apply.
An application for refund of course must be made in writing to us. The applicable refund amount will be provided within thirty days.
Course Fees, charges and scheduled dates are subject to regular review and change without notification. In addition to that, every attempt will be made to give reasonable notice.
Should you be deemed not yet competent (NYC) due to non-attendance or non-completion of course, you will be eligible to rebook into the same course at 15% off the listed price within 3 months.

The training offered by EIA provides skills and knowledge in First Aid management but does NOT constitute a medical qualification. EIA accepts no responsibility for the subsequent actions of participants. Training of this nature involves moderate physical activity, including kneeling and bending. EIA does not accept any responsibility for any harm suffered by you as a result of your participation in your sessions.
If you have any special needs (including those in relation to language, literacy or numeracy), a relevant disability or condition or any other concerns, you should raise these at the time of booking. EIA reserves the right to end your involvement in a course if you fail to follow the directions, policies or procedures communicated to you by the trainer.
To gain your accreditation, you must fulfil both the following criteria:
1. You must attend all sessions and complete all assessments to a standard deemed to be competent by your trainer. The assessment is based on interactive involvement in all aspects of your course;
2. You are required to complete a questionnaire for which you must achieve at least 80% accuracy.
Recognition of Prior Learning
EIA recognises accredited First Aid training by other Registered Training Organisations. Applications for recognition of prior learning should be made to the EIA Training Manager for processing 14 days prior to the commencement of the booked course.
Exclusion of liability
Except where provided or required by law and such cannot be excluded, I agree that it is a term of my entry in the EIA Course (if accepted) that EIA is absolved from all liability however arising from injury or damage however caused (whether fatal or otherwise) arising out of my participation in the EIA Course. I acknowledge that the services and benefits I receive in relation to the EIA Course are “recreational services” as defined under the Trade Practices Act 1974. Where I am a consumer, as defined by any relevant law, certain terms and rights may be implied into a contract for the supply of goods or services for my benefit. I acknowledge that these terms and rights, and any liability of EIA flowing from them, are expressly excluded, restricted or modified by these EIA Course terms and conditions.
Insurance is in place that provides limited cover to me whilst I am participating in the EIA course. I understand that this insurance may not cover me for any injury, loss or damage sustained by me and I can, in my own interests, seek and obtain personal insurances over and above the cover provided by EIA.
This declaration constitutes a contract
Between EIA and myself.
Release and Indemnity
In consideration of EIA accepting my application for entry to the EIA Course, I:
(a) release and forever discharge EIA from all Claims that I may have or may have had but for this release arising from or in connection with my participation in the EIA Course; and
(b) indemnify and hold harmless EIA to the extent permitted by law in respect of any Claim by any person including by not only another participant in the EIA Course arising as a result of or in connection with my participation in the EIA Course. In this clause 8 “Claims” means and includes any action, suit, proceeding, claim, demand, damage, penalty, cost or expense however arising but does not include a claim in respect of any action, suit, etc made by any person entitled to make a claim under a relevant Eightfold Institute of Australia insurance policy.
Fitness to Participate
I declare that I am and must continue to be medically and physically fit and able to participate in the EIA Course. I am not and must not be a danger to myself or to the health and safety of others. I will immediately notify EIA in writing of any change to my fitness and ability to participate. I understand and accept that EIA will continue to rely upon this declaration as evidence of my fitness and ability to participate.
Information you have supplied is correct
I warrant that all information provided on the Course Enrolment Form is true and correct.
All successful participants will receive a certificate posted within 21 days of course completion. EIA can provide an additional certificate for $10 (delivered within 10 business days) or $20 for Express post or same day pick-up. Prices are per certificate and include postage & handling and GST.
First Aid courses requires all the candidates to perform practical task of Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) This kind of training will need the candidates to bend and kneel down on the floor with moderate physical activity.
If you have any disability, special needs, reading or writing that may affect your practical and theory task while completing the course, we ask you to raise these at the time of booking. If the candidate fails to declare it at the time of booking or does not follow the instructions by the trainer, we have the right to terminate your participation in a course and statement of attainment won’t be issued.
It is the participant’s responsibility for any harm suffered by them during the involvement in the course.
Participants will need to demonstrate practical skills and complete all the coursework books in order to successfully Competent in the course.
Not Competent will be recorded in the event the participant cannot satisfactorily demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to meet the unit outcomes.
If the participant is still assessed as Not Competent, the participant will be asked to attend the next scheduled course.
Cheating and Plagiarism
Cheating and plagiarism is not tolerated by EIA. Participants identified as having either cheated, or plagiarized their work will be required to resubmit work. Any incidents will be investigated the result of which may result in the participant being withdrawn or suspended from the course.
